Sunny beach is a beach holiday destination that classes itself in between Lloret de Mar (Spain) and Chersonissos (Greece). In the month of June the sun indeed shines almost all days with a steady 30 degrees Celsius.
In the evenings the temperature drops to a temperature of 23 degrees for a comfortable sleep.
Although this place is a magnet for youngsters looking for cheap booze and entertainment, there is still a big diversity in visitors both in age and nationality.
Although Sunny Beach is a very popular tourist destination the many bars and restaurants are still very cheap relative to Western prices. You can get a main course from around 4 to 10 euro.
One bar catches attention in particular: Den Glade Viking is a bar/discotheque/phenomenon more of an organisation that organises anything from bar crawls to pool parties. It’s a place where you are encouraged to dance on the bar.
At the beach you can book a variety of water sports activities like parasailing or jet ski. At the shoreline of the water there are a few streets with a lot of carnival rides and attractions like bumper cars, bouncing castle for kids, sling shot, ferris wheel, trampoline and they even have a roller coaster that has a looping in it.
If you are seeking culture and nature in your vacation Sunny beach is not for you.
Where to sleep in Sunny Beach
Airbnb studio close to the sea.
There are a lot of places to sleep some of which are hotels, many of which are privately owned vacation homes that can be rented through Airbnb. They are slightly cheaper than hotels, offer discount for longer stays and come with fully equipped kitchens. We had a studio with Wifi, private balcony and a swimming pool. (we can send you details in a private message).
Costs 135 leva for 7 nights.
Where to eat in Sunny beach
Two of our favourite restaurants:
Lapa Lapa, budget to midrange prices and a bit out of the city center. Try to sit outside because inside gets really warm.
Pardon, budget/midrange prices and it’s located outside a hotel but we ate amazing Spaghetti Carbonara and Bolognese here.
